We had a great time at the Plasa Focus trade show in Leeds this week

plasa_leeds_smallerGreat to catch up with some old friends and some interesting bits of equipment which will no doubt be finding its way to our shelves soon.

New Neutrik wireless speaker sender system and an interesting take on the old Gripple wire retaining system, not to mention many different new types of LED moving light, LED screens, moving head projector systems etc. Of main interest for us was the wider range of LED profile lanterns, far less power consumption than traditional lighting systems which up until now have been great for a wash system but in its infancy for profiles which gives the ability of gobo projection combined with low power usage – I’m sure we are all trying to think green in this day and age so everything helps. Going over to full LED stage lighting has long been something we have been watching, we have some wash lanterns but the power output hasnt been great until now and the cost has been prohibitive but its looking like there is a real opportunity to move to full LED stage lighting which in turn means far less power consumption, and therefore far less power distribution equipment needed and hopefully one less van on the road for each job.
